Persons originating from countries for which a visa is mandatory are obliged to apply for a visa for short stay for a visit to the Netherlands. This visa is in principal issued for a period of three months and has to applied for at the Dutch embassy.

Condition for the issuance of the visa so that the applicant shows that he or she has € 34 per day to their disposal. Secondly the applicant must show that he or she is insured for at least € 30.000. Furthermore the applicant is required to prove his or her purpose of visiting the Netherlands and to show that return to the country of origin is guaranteed.

In closing the applicant may not show up in the Schengen warning system (SIS).
